New Year's Eve Fellowship1
New year’s Eve is an opportunity for us to meditate on God's word and to thank Him for His mercy and grace in seeing us through another year.
Biblical precedence occurs in Exodus 40:2, when God instructs Moses and congregation of Israelis to set up the Tabernacle on the first day of the New Year. Mathew Henry’s commentary on this instructs;
“When a new year begins, we should seek God better than the year before.”
God promises a renewal in each one of us in His word. In Isaiah 43:19 we read;
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
While there are several ways people spend their New Year’s Eve, it is wise for Christians to spend this time in God’s presence and remember His love. Our New Year’s Eve fellowship at Christ Community Church is planned on December 31, 2014. This is an opportunity for us to gather and rejoice at His grace and remain in His presence as we enter 2015. The fellowship is planned from 9PM to 11PM for family games, snacks, coffee, and small group activities.
From 11:00 to 12:30, we will focus on small group prayers, testimonials, worship songs, corporate prayer, and a devotional on God’s promises. We will end the fellowship by remembering our Lord Jesus Christ through a communion. May God be glorified in all that we do!
